The year after the revolt of 1857, the Delhi division was separated from the North-Western Province and Allahabad replaced Agra as the new capital of the Province. Ten years later, the High Court was transferred from Agra and set up in Allahabad. Today, the imposing stone building continues the tradition of Justice. The room of Chief Justice's Court is the biggest in India of any High Court.
